Privacy policy
We collect only what we need to ship your order, and we don't sell your information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Who we are
NerdRoots is a small business in California that makes 3D-printed cooling parts for home Bitcoin miners. In this policy, "we" means NerdRoots. You can reach us at support@nerd-roots.com.
What we collect
- When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number and what you bought. Payment is handled by Stripe or PayPal, so we never see or store your full card number.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you include in your message.
- When you browse: our web host keeps standard server logs for security and troubleshooting, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested. If we use analytics, it's Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits in aggregate without cookies and without tracking you across other sites.
- Your cart: it's saved in your own browser (local storage) so it's there when you come back. It isn't sent to us until you check out.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. When you pay, Stripe's and PayPal's checkout pages may use their own cookies for security and fraud prevention, under their own privacy policies.
How we use your information
- To process, ship and support your order, including returns and exchanges.
- To reply to your emails.
- To keep the records that tax and accounting laws require.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
We don't send marketing emails unless you ask to hear from us.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us run the store, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe and PayPal, to process payments.
- Shipping carriers and our label service, to deliver your order (your name and address).
- Hostinger, our web host.
- Cloudflare, for cookie-free visit statistics, if enabled.
- Tax authorities, and others when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting laws require, then delete them. Emails are kept as long as needed to help you.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it (except records we're legally required to keep). California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and we extend them to everyone. To make a request, email support@nerd-roots.com. We'll confirm the request comes from you and respond within 45 days. We won't treat you differently for making a request.
Children
This store isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Orders from Etsy or Amazon
When you buy through Etsy or Amazon, that marketplace's privacy policy also applies to the information you give them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
